We just finished watching the film.
Very strong feelings-I liked it, I was frightened, I need time to think about it.
I am happy that you attend to European films.
Last night we watched Macbeth by Orson Wells (1948).
Is there a post of yours recommending films with the original Shakespere dialogs? And if there is not, would you make one?

Margaret, I picked Last Night up for this weekend.
Lemon, the filmed Macbeth I adore stars Ian McKellan and Judy Dench (1978; directed by Trevor Nunn). The stage is stark, the acting brilliant, and the focus entirely on the language and the play itself.
